This is an interesting indulgence that I do once in a while.
Did you know that used, ground coffee from your coffee machine can make your skin feel supple and young?
Here are some skin benefits that it does. And I can attest to the effectiveness of this even after just one use.
1. It is rich in anti-oxidants and makes skin smooth and brighter
There is actually a study that coffee bean extracts can be responsible in cell regeneration. I think I am believer because just after one bath, my skin feels really baby smooth.
2. It is said to enhance blood circulation.
Well, drinking coffee wakes us up internally, doesn’t it?
That is why most people need to have their cups of coffee before their day begins. It is not unthinkable that this also has an effect on our skin when applied topically.
3. It exfoliates skin and reduces the appearance of cellulites.
Women (and men, too) past a certain age need to exfoliate the skin to remove those dead skin layers to help usher in the fresher, newer cells.
There are lots of products in the market for this. Why not go all natural and try those coffee grounds from your machine? 🙂
Coffee seem to reduce the apperance of cellulites because the caffeine in it rehydrates the fatty cells, making them appear smoother. In fact, a lot of cellulite-reducing beauty creams in the market lists caffeine as a top ingredient.
Here are some ways on how you can incorporate coffee in your beauty routine.
A. Use as a face and body scrub.
Just mix those coffee grounds with water to make a paste then go scrub your skin to feel more beautiful. 🙂
You can do this 2-3 times a week or how often do you normally do your weekly scrub.
B. Use as a bath.
I do this once in a while although a word of caution! It stains your tub and may even cause some drainage problem when not done properly.
Believe me, the first time I did this, my tub drainage was clogged! I had to defend to my husband why I needed to do it. 😛 All for the sake of beauty my dear now help me!! 😛
So this is how you do it properly.
First is you fill up your tub with warm water.
Then put coffee on a strainer and dip it into the water in the tub. Be careful and don’t let any of those small grains escape. 😀
You can then put yourself in the tub and enjoy. 🙂
We women can be sometimes really expensive.
Has it ever happened to you that you bought a very expensive product only to regret it afterwards because it feels like it just isn’t working?
That is why I maintain this beauty routine because it is very effective and it is free, well almost. 🙂
